Mr. Magalhães is a civil engineer, mathematician and mechanical technician with over 30 years of experience with civil works, project implementation and administration, earthmoving, pre-operation, plants operations and processes and quality management in the mining industry. His career through large mining companies includes the management of contracts and almost 80 people as Mst. engineer of the Sossego mine, the first Brazilian copper mine, from Vale. He also worked as contract management and Sr. engineer in Vale’s first international project: the Moatize coal mining project, in Mozambique. Before coming to MVV, Mr. Magalhães was in charge of elaborating, budgeting, implanting and managing engineering projects related to the Anglo American’s iron ore mine whose ore pipeline is the largest in the world.
