DESCRIPTION
Master engineer, senior project manager with more than 30 years of experience in construction and project management, working on implementation of large industrial units, with emphasis on mining and beneficiation of iron-ore, light metals, bauxite and alumina refinery plants; also working with implementation of projects in shipbuilding, sanitation and metal-mechanical sectors, chemical and thermal plants, leading large projects at companies such as Anglo American, Vale S/A, Arcadis-Logos, Hatch, Norsk Hydro, Alcoa, MRN – Mineração Rio do Norte, Camargo Correa, Kaiser Brasil, Brahma, Antárctica, Jari Celulose, Codistil Dedini, Grupo Coteminas, Santista Têxtil, WT Têxtil, as well as several municipal water and wastewater treatment systems.
Recognized experience on implementation of large mining projects in remote areas such as 100 MTPA – Carajás Mine Expansion from Vale, CarajásTruckless System, S11D Project and Serra Leste Project from VALE, Alunorte and Paragominas plants from Norsk Hydro, Alumar Refinery from Alcoa and Minas-Rio Project from Anglo American, managing multidisciplinary teams of engineering, planning, project control, budget, construction management and contract administration, and the interfaces between environmental issues, contractors, construction, land management, communications, assets security, AT, IT and Telecom, relationship with communities and governmental agencies.
Extensive technical expertise at field level, working with roads, railway and port infrastructure, civil works and earthworks, tailing dams, transmission lines, electromechanical industrial installations, concrete structure, steel structure, material handling, utilities, piping and boilers, including pipe lines, pump stations, shipbuilding and sanitation projects.
Strong experience in Project Management focusing on results and recognized leadership coordinating multidisciplinary teams in mega-projects environment; working with EPC and EPCM management and application of FEL (Front End Loading) methodology from IPA (Independent Project Analysis) and PMI (Project Management Institute), hiring, training and motivating project teams.
Proven leadership, gained with the extensive experience working with multidisciplinary teams for large projects implementation from the conceptual design to the commissioning and start-up.
