André Maia has a degree in Environmental Engineering from the State University of Pará, a post-graduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering from Grupo Educa-Mais of São Paulo. He joined Mineração Vale Verde in April 2018, participating in the feasibility studies and led the obtainment of environmental licenses that subsidized the Serrote Project. André Maia is also a Lead Auditor, being responsible for the Environment and Health and Safety management system of the Serrote Project. He has 12 years of mining experience, having worked in the implementation of copper, iron and nickel mines in southern Pará, in particular at the Elizer Batista Mine in Canaã dos Carajás / Pa, one of the largest iron mines in the world. Maia has a harmonious relationship with the team and other managers, promoting a motivating and challenging environment, being fluent in English and native Portuguese.
